We know it’s traditional to write a list, but in this case there is a slight twist
Our home is complete with the usual stuff, and the things that we have are good enough
Our dream is to honeymoon in a foreign land, and walk through the snow hand in hand
We hope you don’t think of us as being rude, and that our request is not misconstrued
But a contribution to our honeymoon pot, would be appreciated such a lot
But the most important thing to say, is that you are there to celebrate our day!

“There wasn’t a specific moment when I realised Anke was “The One”. It was all the little things that added up. the subtle smiles, the jokes and the laughter, the random I love you’s, the long chats in the kitchen. it all added up. we just fit perfectly together.”

Our Story

15 June 2016 – Where it all began!
Despite having met in 2013, the matchmaking gods ordained this would be the night that Marius’ super-ninja skills in hydration would leave Anke adequately charmed and most suitably impressed.
16 June 2016 – The first date!
Marius had planned to go to “Liefde by die dam” when Anke (clearly still adequately charmed & most suitably impressed) asked if she could tag along, he thankfully obliged!
29 July 2016 – It became official!
Upon realising that Anke was like the cheese to his burger and that he liked her very muchly indeed, Marius decided he’d like to keep Anke around permanently, and officially asked her out.

05 July 2017 – No place like home!
Needing adequate room to house their growing menagerie of adorable furbaby’s and requiring a kitchen fit for two such esteemed food connoisseurs (Mostly Anke…Marius could only cook pasta and order pizza), Marius and Anke bought their first house, and have been living together in foodie-furbaby-bliss ever since.

26 January 2018 – He finally proposed!
Marius & Anke headed off for a getaway to Stonehill, one of the first of many places they holidayed together, and also one of the few places to welcome their furry children! Nestled between the mountains and beautiful sunsets, romance was in abundance, and after a lovely day and foodilicious dinner, Marius got down on one knee and popped the question.

“For me, it was everything… from pitching up at my office to help with a tender until late at night, to bubble baths, biltong and Niknaks. Notwithstanding the rather large age gap, his family and friends welcomed me into their lives and made me feel a part of everything from the beginning. All the ‘cheesy’ jokes helped too!”
